Paranormal Research
“Jack is the most grounded psychic I have ever met in my nearly forty years of paranormal research and I have met literally thousands. His level of critical thinking and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively is superior; I use him on cases and wish I had met him thirty years ago”
-Dr. Barry E. Taff PhD,
Internationally acclaimed parapsychologist
Dr. Barry Taff earned his doctorate in psychophysiology with a minor in biomedical engineering from UCLA. He holds six medical patents. From 1969 through 1978 he worked out of the former parapsychology laboratory at UCLA's Neuro-psychiatric Institute as a research associate where he studied telepathy, precognition, and remote viewing. Dr. Taff has consulted for the Department of Defense, the CIA, NSA, FBI and other agencies vital to national security and is to this day bound by a national security agreement. With regard to paranormal research, Taff investigated more than 4000 cases, spanning 40 plus years, of alleged poltergeists, UFO’s, doppelgangers demonic possession and haunting. His most famous case became the best selling book and motion picture, “The Entity”.
Jack Rourke is a psi researcher and respected psychic consultant specializing in remote viewing. He is the first and only psychic to ever conduct field research with internationally acclaimed parapsychologist Dr. Barry E. Taff. Before meeting Dr. Taff Jack had himself already consulted on or investigated more than 250 complaints of alleged paranormal events including poltergeist, supposed demonic attack, possession and house haunting. Currently Mr. Rourke is co author of the 21C-international psi survey with Dr. Taff and Dr. Andrew Nichols of the American Institute of Parapsychology. As a psychic, Jack maintains an office in the upscale Brentwood section of Los Angeles where he offers service to business, private persons and law enforcement. Mr. Rourke has worked on criminal and missing person’s cases domestically and abroad; successfully providing information on targets as far away as the Philippines, Japan and the former Soviet Union

Investigative theory
I am not an advocate of relying on psychically discerned information when researching a paranormal concern. Since perception should be under examination during any credible paranormal investigation it is best to first consider how environmental conditions may influence one's mind rather than rely on extra sensory perception as a primary tool for inquisition.
Additionally we are not separate from the environment. Furthermore the sensitive should be mindful of any subtle influence of the mutual need for validation that may exist between the client and the psychic that could blur objectivity.
I believe the role of a psychic is to objectively observe and report environmental conditions created by human social interactions as well as interpreting the accompanying belief systems mystical or otherwise that support the clients perception. Another possible use of psychic abilities may be to detect geological influences or to attempt to provide localized historical information away from the eyes of the client in support of greater understanding of the environment under investigation.
Belief system
I believe it is important to operate within the confines of a clients' belief system. One should not attempt to dismantle the belief structure of a client as our role is not to proselytize. Any attempt to undermine or influence a complainants belief system could further destabilize them. It is my opinion that a psychic should be informed, and sensitive enough to speak to clients using terms that facilitate assimilation of information in ways that most simply compliment their understanding of the world.
Paranormal investigation from my perspective is not a spiritual mission. It is a human mission, a mission of compassion. Any intervention by a researcher, psychic or otherwise may grant a complaintant the ability to view their experiences from a different perspective, one that may in deed foster a new spiritual understanding but whether or how the client chooses to incorporate new understanding into their belief system is ultimately their own. Suffice to say it is not, in my opinion the job of a psychic or researcher to indulge or validate a clients spiritual view of things or try to impose any religious or moral belief system upon them. Instead it is our responsibility to educate and provide new perspectives based on provable sources that enable a client to make informed choices free of fear and superstition.
