How to Be Your Own Personal Hero

This entry was posted in Life Coaching and tagged , on by .

We all make mistakes at times – no one is perfect. What’s important is that you learn from them. When something doesn’t go as planned, it’s important to examine the issue, redefine your expectations and find other solutions or approaches. Your mistakes do NOT define you or your future!

One of the best ways to grow as a person is to be your own personal hero. This hero will come and rescue you from your current life and help you stop the cycle of painful mistakes. You can’t wait for someone else to be your hero – YOU have the power to do this on your own.

Here are the ways that you can be your own hero and live a life of purpose and conviction

Own Your Choices

No matter how painful your choices might feel, it’s important to own them. Once you admit your weaknesses, you can process them and move on. Beating yourself up with self-criticism is not effective and will only make you feel worse about your circumstances.

Talk Kindly to Yourself

It’s amazing that we would never talk to others in the way that we talk to ourselves. Often, we speak harshly to ourselves, and this ends up putting us into a cycle of shame and low self-esteem. When you notice negative thinking creeping up, stand up for yourself and shut it down.

Recognize that Only YOU Can Save Yourself

Heroes don’t need help to get things done. They take matters into their own hands. You can do the same, even if you don’t have many supportive people in your life. But part of being a hero is taking responsibility and not blaming others. When you admit this to yourself, it’s actually quite freeing and powerful.

Make a Plan and Take Action

Decide what you want to change in your life and how you will take action. Start small if you need to – you don’t have to do everything at once. For example, if your job is stressing you out, but you like where you work, you can start by talking to your boss or reducing your hours. You don’t have to automatically quit.

Reject Excuses

Heroes don’t make excuses for themselves. They ignore them and still make things happen. When you run into obstacles, find ways to overcome them. And, keep your options open. Being single-minded limits your options and makes excuses easier. When there’s a will, there’s a way.

Be True to Yourself

Always lead a life that aligns with your values and morals. Heroes respect these things and refuse to give them up just to please others. Work on doing the same. Not only will you be standing up for yourself, but also you’ll be building a life that has purpose and meaning.

You don’t have to wait for someone else to come and save you – be your own hero! If you need help along the way, schedule a psychic session with Jack Rourke. These sessions can be incredibly helpful in understanding your choices, why you’re making them and how to change things for a brighter future.
